With ‘nari shakti’ being in focus this election season, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday entrusted the mahila workers of the party with the task of reaching out to non-BJP voters and sensitising them on how the country has progress under the rule of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi.

On the candidature for the South Goa seat of the Lok Sabha and whether it is going to be a woman this time, he said irrespective of the gender the party workers will work unitedly for the victory of the candidate.

As regards the delay in announcing the candidate, he said in the next two days the candidature for the South Goa seat will be announced.

Reiterating that the party will win both the seats with a thumping majority, he said, “I am confident that the BJP will secure victory in South Goa with a margin of 60,000 votes.”

“Let us work in tandem for the next 50 days to ensure victory of BJP in North and South Goa,” he said, while addressing the Mahila Morcha members and the party workers in Margao.

“The foundation stone of Viksit Bharat will be laid for the third time. I, therefore, appeal to the people to vote for the BJP,”
he said.

He told the gathering of mahilas that the Prime Minister has a vision to empower the women in the country through various schemes and facilities.

“The Nari Shakti schemes are the first pillar of strength of the government.  Go and explain to the people how Prime Minister Modi has formulated the visionary schemes and taken the country to newer heights and, therefore, the need to re-elect him,” Sawant said.

Margao legislator Digambar Kamat, in his speech, also appealed to the mahilas to stay united and place before the voters the progress card of the central government.

Minister for Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar also spoke on the occasion. Former MP Narendra Sawaikar, spokesperson Damu Naik, ZP chief Suvarna Tendulkar and Sulakshana Sawant were prominent among those present.
