Hamilton County Tourism recently allocated $95,000 to over 30 nonprofit organizations through its 2024 Tourism Gives grant initiative, aimed at bolstering tourism-related endeavors within the community. President/CEO Brenda Myers emphasized the program’s objective of fostering unique experiences for both residents and visitors, underscoring their contribution to the area’s vibrant cultural landscape.

Since its inception in 2006, Hamilton County Tourism’s Tourism Gives program has disbursed over $15 million in grants and special project support, illustrating its commitment to nurturing tourism and cultural initiatives. With approximately 6 million annual visitors, the county’s diverse array of attractions and events contributes significantly to its appeal as a destination.

Recipients of the 2024 Tourism Gives grants span a broad spectrum of organizations, ranging from arts councils and festivals to historical societies and cultural commissions. Notable beneficiaries include Fishers Arts Council, Conner Prairie, Heartland Film Festival, Carmel Christkindlmarkt, and Noblesville Main Street, among others.

These grants enable recipients to enhance their offerings, enriching the cultural fabric of Hamilton County and elevating its status as a premier tourist destination. Initiatives such as Spark! Fishers, Great American Songbook Foundation, and the Indiana Peony Festival receive vital support to orchestrate engaging events that draw visitors and residents alike.

Moreover, investments in cultural districts, historical societies, and performing arts centers contribute to the preservation and celebration of the area’s rich heritage. Organizations like the Carmel Arts & Design District/City of Carmel, Sheridan Main Street, and the Museum of Miniature Houses play pivotal roles in showcasing Hamilton County’s unique identity.

By empowering nonprofits to expand their reach and impact, Hamilton County Tourism’s grant program cultivates a thriving tourism ecosystem that benefits the entire community. From vibrant festivals like CarmelFest and the Carmel International Arts Festival to community-building initiatives such as Lights Over Morse and Westfield Welcome, these grants fuel the vitality and appeal of Hamilton County as a destination of choice.
