Star signings, WSL maternity positivity and 2-year-old Harper Gorry: inside West Ham Women’s revolution

West Ham Women are on a mission.

The definition of a mid-table club, they have never finished higher than sixth or lower than eighth in the WSL since joining in the 2018/19 season.

But this season, something has shifted for the Hammers.

A period of dire results has forced the club into action and, in recent performances, they look to be a side completely transformed.

And as the Vice President of West Ham Women, no one is better placed to explain this revolution the team than Queenie Porter.

Porter is no stranger to success; as the Managing Director of Wow Hydrate - a sugar-free sports drink which has partnered with names including Manchester United - she knows how to build a lasting brand.

Speaking to talkSPORT’s Women’s Football Show, she spoke about what inspired her to work with West Ham Women initially.

She said: “What I was so impressed by was that they were looking for a commercial deal just for the women’s team.

She added: “I really wanted to take the opportunity to give the women the time and really concentrate on it.”

Porter described how her role was about making sure female football players had holistic care from their club.
