Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.12 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 3.01 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 2.20 crore), Indian Railway Fin(number of shares traded: 1.00 crore), Toyam Industries (number of shares traded: 0.94 crore), NHPC(number of shares traded: 0.69 crore), Unitech(number of shares traded: 0.51 crore), Shree Securities(number of shares traded: 0.50 crore), Maha Corp Ltd(number of shares traded: 0.42 crore) and Alstone Textiles(number of shares traded: 0.41 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:05AM in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 181.11 points down at 21965.55, while BSE Sensex was down 516.06 points at 72581.22 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.89 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), ITC Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent), UPL Ltd.(up 1.12 per cent) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 5.99 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(down 4.60 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(down 3.69 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 3.54 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.92 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
