Louis Walsh has revealed he had a “mild” and “rare” version of blood cancer called Waldenström but now “it’s gone”.

The Irish music manager (71) said he didn’t even know he had it at the time.

While speaking on Celebrity Big Brother, the Mayo native said: “I was sick but nobody knew I was sick.

"I didn't even know I had it until I went to the hospital and they checked me.

"It's all gone, I'm fine.”

He said the diagnosis affected him mentally as he described it as a “reality check”.

“Even when I go past the hospital, I almost get sick.

“It was just a shock of being sick and that word. Nobody wants that word.

“I have it blocked out. It brings just a reality check. But you see so many people sick, it's terrible.

“In my world, it was all about pop music and all that.

"I didn’t think of anybody getting sick or anything like that. That was like: ‘Wow. Reality check. You're in the real world,” he added.
