Washington — Top-seeded North Carolina plays No. 5 seed Pittsburgh on Friday night in the ACC Tournament semifinals at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. ET Friday and it airs on ESPN.
North Carolina (26-6, 18-3 ACC) is on a seven-game winning streak heading into Friday night.
On Thursday, the Tar Heels routed the Florida State Seminoles, 92-67. Center Armando Bacot scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.
Pitt (22-10, 12-8 ACC) beat No. 4 seed Wake Forest 81-69 on Thursday. The Panthers are on the NCAA Tournament bubble. UNC won the lone meeting this season between the teams, but Pittsburgh has won five of the last seven games in the series.
The Tar Heels are vying for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. It appears Houston (28-3), UConn (28-3) and Purdue (28-3) will get three of the No. 1 seeds.
UNC is competing with Tennessee (24-7), Arizona (24-7) and Iowa State (24-7) for the final No. 1 seed. Tennessee lost in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, giving the Tar Heels a clearer path to that No. 1 seed.
North Carolina is trying to win its first ACC Tournament since 2016, which was the last time the tournament was held in Washington, D.C.
No. 3 seed Virginia and No. 10 seed NC State meet in the second semifinal.
