Not just as an actor but Aamir Khan has also been successful as a director and a producer.

In 2012, Aamir helped Pune-Based De-Addiction Centre Get Funds

Aamir helped the Pune-based NGO, Muktangan Rehabilitation Centre (MRS) get funds in 2012. MRS even featured on Aamir’s show Satyamev Jayate and later the actor’s production delivered a cheque of Rs 4.37 lakh on July 6, 2012 in Mumbai to the organisation.

Campaigns Against Female Foeticide in Rajasthan 

On the very first episode of Satyamev Jayate, Aamir spoke about female foeticide and even urged the Rajasthan government to take action against the matter. Finally a while later, CM Shok Gehlot assured the Dhoom 3 actor of setting up a court for speedy trials on Female foeticide cases that had been pending for years.

Aamir Khan joined hands with Maharashtra Government for Water Conservation

Aamir’s Paani Foundation teamed with Maharashtra Government’s initiative Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan, to ensure adequate water supply to all farms across the state. Paani Foundation is founded by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and the 'Satyamev Jayate' TV show team. 

Aamir Khan Helped Bhuj Earthquake Victims in 2001 

The actor’s 2001 blockbuster Lagaan was shot in the village of Bhuj. Incidentally, the apartment complex where Aamir and his team stayed was unfortunately destroyed during the 2001 Bhuj earthquake and there was a massive loss to life and property. Aamir helped hundreds during the tragedy and even adopted the village of Kunwaria, where his film Lagaan was shot.

"Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" with Laapataa Ladies 

Aamir Khan has always been known to support important causes and with his latest film Laapataa Ladies, the star has highlighted the issue of women empowerment in rural India. The film hit cinemas on 1st March.
