Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Thursday's session.

Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 12.03%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 6.27%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 6.26%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 5.97%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(up 4.91%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 4.72%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(up 4.49%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 4.48%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(up 4.47%) and Dodla Dairy Ltd.(up 4.29%) stood among the top gainers.

Future Consumer Ltd.(down 5.27%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(down 2.16%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.97%), Emami Ltd.(down 0.54%) and Gillette India Ltd.(down 0.06%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 148.96 points up at 22146.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 335.39 points at 73097.28.

Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 6.24%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 4.82%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.62%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.6%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.1%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.93%), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.69%), Infosys Ltd.(up 2.61%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.56%) and UPL Ltd.(up 2.26%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Axis Bank Ltd.(down 2.06%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.73%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.95%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.91%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.84%), State Bank of India(down 0.83%), ITC Ltd.(down 0.67%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.61%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.57%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.34%) closed in the red.
