Contrary to some views, investment in Ireland’s property market by overseas funds has been a vital part of our economic success story. Without that investment, thousands fewer apartments would have been built, rents would be higher and some companies would not have expanded here, due to lack of accommodation for staff.

An example of one such fund is Greystar Ireland, the US-headquartered company which is landlord to more than 1.5 million people globally. I spoke with Miguel Fitzgerald, Greystar’s real estate investment director for Ireland, to hear more about its success and strategy.
