Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.28% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 4.51 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.77 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.74 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.24 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.28 per cent at 18688.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.0 points at 22024.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 22.42 points at 72784.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Somi Conveyor, Diamond Power, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Tarapur Trans and Bharat Highways InvI hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shyam Telecom, Sanco Industries, Latteys Industries, Peria Karamalai Tea and Osia Hyper Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
