Tata Power shares down 4.93% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of Tata Power Company Ltd. traded 4.93 per cent down in Wednesday's trade at 02:00PM (IST). Around 1,249,969 shares changed hands on the counter.

The stock opened at Rs 398.5 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 399.75 and Rs 373.45, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Tata Power Company Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 433.2 and a 52-week low of Rs 182.45.

Total market cap of the Tata Power Company Ltd. stood at Rs 120608.09 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 15294.13 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2023, down 4.59 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 16029.54 crore and down 6.19 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 14401.95 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 953.01 crore, up 0.85 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Dec-2023, DIIs held 5.42 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 9.85 per cent and the promoters 46.86 per cent.

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 33.7 and a price-to-book ratio of 2.11. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations.
