As thousands of people flock to Bay County for spring vacation, Panama City is gearing up.
Officials with Destination Panama City said the months of March, July, and August are peak times for cities across Bay County.
Destination Panama City employees said they prepare a marketing plan a year in advance to offer the best experience to visitors.
Destination Panama City is sponsoring several events this spring the Flluxe Arts Festival, the Causeway Car Show.
This brought in nearly 8500 people to the area, and a St. Patrick’s Day celebration taking place this weekend.
Jennifer Vigil is the president and CEO of Destination Panama City. She said her top priority is catering to visitors, especially families.
“We absolutely know that for at least Panama City the types of things that we offer are cultural and culinary and excursion based,” Vigil said.
“So, whether you’re on the bay or experiencing one of the art galleries in downtown Panama City it’s really something that families enjoy so it’s kind of an easier sell when you have a way to educate and still have fun at the same time.”
