WATERBURY – Marie (DiVito) Mazzetti, 94, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at The Ivy at Watertown with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Joseph G. Mazzetti for 69 years before his passing in 2021.
Marie was born in Waterbury on June 9, 1929, daughter of the late John DiVito Sr. and Rose (Vozza) DiVito. She attended Tinker School and was a graduate of Wilby High School, class of 1947.
Before her retirement, she worked for Jones Morgan in Waterbury, where she met her husband, Joseph. She also worked for American Brass Country Club in Naugatuck and in her later years at G. Fox & Co. in the cosmetic department as the Clinique counter manager.
She loved traveling with her husband to Hawaii, the French Riviera and her favorite destination, Italy, especially the Amalfi Coast, where she had relatives. Her greatest joy was always having Joe by her side.
Marie enjoyed being with her family and celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. In her spare time, she enjoyed making beautiful cards for her family and friends and was an excellent baker. She was a former communicant of St. Patrick Church.
Marie leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, William J. Mazzetti and his wife Rosanne, of Waterbury, Sharon Marie Gugliotti and her husband Anthony N., of Waterbury; grandsons, Michael J. Mazzetti and his wife Kimberly, of Waterbury, Christopher M. Gugliotti of Waterbury; great-grandson, Angel Mazzetti of Waterbury; sister-in-law, Gloria DiVito of Watertown; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and loved to spend time with.
She also leaves her devoted goddaughter, Johnna Huk of Beacon Falls; and close friends, the Desaulniers and Ed Soucy.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Martin, Michael, Domenic and John DiVito Jr.; and sister, Mary Minnella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Loreto Church on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A calling hour will be on Saturday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
