The Mullins racing dynasty: ‘My grandfather was training during WWII…I grew up looking out through a pair of pony’s ears’

The Mullins Dynasty

Tabitha Monahan

While the Cheltenham Festival is always a significant event in the racing calendar for the Mullins family, this year will be even more so.

The matriarch of the dynasty, Maureen Mullins, died last month, aged 94. Such was her impact, the last race of the first day today is named after her: The Maureen Mullins National Hunt Novices’ Chase.
