Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday said the state government will amend the Public Health Act to regulate spas operating in the state.
“For spas in the state, we will bring an amendment in the next session of Goa legislative assembly,” said Rane speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in
Panaji.
“We see that people are running spas from small rooms. We will not grant permissions. Spas should be run as per the guidelines and with trained personnel,” he said.
Rane also said that those providing ayurvedic massages and medical treatments should have valid certificates.
“All these things will be defined and also what the area should be. There is a lot of chaos in the coastal belt; there has to be a control over it. After holding a detailed discussion with the chief minister and submitting a white paper, we will do it,” the Health Minister said.
