Man (60s) to appear in court in relation to Monaghan debs crash

The collision happened on July 31, 2023, in Legnakelly, Co Monaghan.

Kiea McCann (17) and Dlava Mohamed (16) were on their way to their debs ball with Largy College in Co Monaghan when the car in which they were travelling left the road and crashed.

Two girls died at the scene, while two other passengers were hospitalised. The 60-year-old driver was in a critical condition.

Garda investigating the accident have charged a man aged in his sixties this morning.

The individual is due to appear before Monaghan District Court this Monday morning, March 11.
