Ederson is reportedly a 'major doubt' for Manchester City in their crucial Premier League title clash against Arsenal.

The goalkeeper was substituted during the second-half of City's 1-1 draw against Anfield on Sunday.

Ederson collided into Darwin Nunez and conceded a penalty in doing so before having to make way for Stefan Ortega.

Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail has reported that the Brazilian has suffered a thigh injury and is set for three to four weeks out.

This means he could be set to miss City's clash at home to Arsenal on March 31, with just one point separating the two sides.

Ederson has been a huge factor in their success since signing in 2017, with the 30-year-old proving key in between the sticks.

He has won the Premier League title in five of his six full seasons so far with City, with the only exception being Liverpool's win in 2020.

The 30-year-old made his 27th league start of the season on Sunday and has conceded just 25 goals in the top flight.

However, Ortega now looks set to fill the void in the coming weeks as Pep Guardiola's side eye a record fourth consecutive title.

City signed the German in 2022 and he has since made 24 appearances for the club, most of which have come in the cups.
