It was a big night for Oppenheimer as predicted but there were plenty of less expected moments from Sunday night’s Academy Awards ceremony in L.A

In terms of predicted winners, the 2024 Oscars went pretty much as planned. Cillian Murphy picked up his Best Actor award from a cluster of former winners, among them Nicolas Cage, Ben Kingsley and Matthew McConaughey. Poor Things, made by Dublin’s Element Pictures, went on to win in four categories: Production Design, Costume, Make-up & Hairstyling, and Best Actress for Emma Stone.

And while there were no shock award winners last night at the Dolby Theatre in L.A , the biggest night in Hollywood still had a few surprise moments along the way. Here are some of the moments you might have missed …
