Challinor: Evaluate ways to decrease size, frequency of private planes at Aspen airport

In fact, Aspen airport CAN keep its current airport layout and wingspan limit if only our Pitkin County commissioners would stop advocating for bigger planes. In a videotaped BOCC meeting in April 2023 Amory Levins asked the FAA’s John Bauer if this was true and he said yes. Rather than pushing for larger private planes, which we most decidedly do not need, the BOCC should be evaluating ways to decrease the size and number of private planes at ASE. They are not only environmentally catastrophic, but they frequently inconvenience the majority of us who fly commercially.
