Letter: Why are we so quick to condemn Israel?
As the war in Gaza continues to rage, the world’s criticism of Israel grows daily. None of us can imagine the horror and devastation that the people of Gaza are experiencing. And yet in all this chaos, where is the world’s condemnation of Hamas? Where is the outcry for Hamas to surrender, release the hostages and end this war immediately?
We hear condemnation of Israel and a demand for an immediate ceasefire, but I wish one world leader would explain, then what? What happens after a ceasefire? And of course, this is a one-way ceasefire by Israel. Hamas would continue to exist, continue to fire rockets and continue to kill Israelis as its leaders have promised.
When are our concerned politicians, who are so quick to condemn Israel, going to condemn Hamas, condemn Qatar, which houses the billionaire Hamas leaders, and condemn Iran, which is behind so much of this terror?
The fact is that it is so much easier and convenient to blame all Jews and Israel for everything that ails the Middle East. We see this barrage daily on news outlets, radio programs, college campuses, and in daily briefings by our politicians.
We should all be ashamed of the behavior and actions of our leaders.

There is certainly plenty to blame and criticize Israel for, but at the end of the day, its leaders are protecting citizens from an evil regime that has promised to repeat Oct. 7 over and over again.
Please ask yourself what you would do in this scenario if it was your country.
