In celebration of International Women’s Day, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited entity, proudly unveils the launch of an exclusive all-women work shift at Delhi airport, named ‘Pink Shift,’ to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in the aviation sector. This pioneering effort sees women staff leading operations across all terminals for an entire eight-hour shift, showcasing the critical skills and unique perspectives women contribute to the industry.
This move heralds a new era of inclusivity in India’s bustling aviation hub, with the all-women shift enhancing leadership diversity and introducing varied experiences, viewpoints, and problem-solving strategies. Such diversity enriches the decision-making process, aiming not only to improve operational effectiveness but also to enrich passenger experiences significantly.
Women taking on roles such as Terminal Managers, Customer Services Officers, or Executives play a pivotal role in promoting a customer-focused approach, thereby enhancing the airport’s image and ensuring a hospitable and friendly environment for travelers.
DIAL’s CEO, Mr. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, emphasized that this initiative underscores DIAL’s dedication to diversity and operational excellence, inspiring future generations of women in aviation and challenging industry norms. It stands as a reflection of the GMR Group’s overarching mission to nurture an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace, thereby advocating for the pivotal role of diversity in the aviation industry’s future.
Through this initiative, DIAL reaffirms its commitment to fostering a work environment that mirrors and honors its diverse workforce, aiming to contribute to a more equitable and flourishing future for the aviation industry in India.
