OLD SAYBROOK – Anna Mae (Butler) Famiglietti, 82, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Old Saybrook, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Louis J. Famiglietti Jr., who passed away in 2006.
Anne was born in Waterbury on Oct. 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Anna Leone and William Butler. She attended Wilby High School and graduated from UConn, receiving her bachelor’s degree. She was a longtime swimming instructor at the YWCA and worked as a social worker for many years until her retirement.
Anne enjoyed trips to Maine, watching UConn basketball, and snuggling with her beloved dog Maggi.
Anne leaves her seven children, Louis W. Famiglietti and his wife Lindsay, of Southington, Sandra Deschenes of Waterbury, Francine Famiglietti of Thomaston, Cheryl Almodovar and her husband Angel, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Dara Malloy and her husband Patrick, of Northfield, LouAnna Wilkinson and her husband John, of Old Saybrook, and Roseanne Lombardi of Southington; her 15 loving grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Anne was predeceased by her brother, William C. Butler.
A Mass of Christian Burial with the cremains present will be celebrated Monday, March 11, 2024, 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St., Waterbury. Anyone wishing to attend the Mass is asked to meet directly at the basilica on Monday. There are no calling hours. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with assisting the family with Anna’s services.
