TERRYVILLE – Jean A. (Buynovsky) Przygocki, 92, of Terryville, living at Quail Hollow Village, died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She was the widow of the late Raymond M. Przygocki Sr., whom she lovingly cared for after his stroke in 1994.

Jean was born in Bristol on Dec. 4, 1931, and was one of six children of the late Stephen and Anna (Prihoda) Buynovsky. A lifelong Bristol resident, growing up in Forestville, she graduated from Bristol High School in 1949.

Jean continued to reside in Bristol where she met her husband, Raymond, and raised their three children. She worked for Dorothy’s Clothing Store in Bristol for many years (Main Street, Bristol Plaza, and Bristol Centre Mall) until the store’s closing.

Jean enjoyed spending many happy and memorable vacations on Cape Cod with her family and friends. She could often be found heading off to craft and antique shows or sitting on the beach with family. Watching PGA golf, the Boston Red Sox, and UConn basketball were true passions and brought her much joy! She would discuss in detail the various players and specifics of any given game.

Gardening and reading provided a time for relaxation, and her gladioluses were stunning.

Jean is survived by her three children and their spouses, Raymond Przygocki Jr. and wife Anne, of Brewster, Mass., Jay Przygocki and wife Suzanne, of Washington Depot, and Lynne Bobroske and husband Tim, of Harwinton.

Jean is survived by her five grandchildren, Megan, Peter, Ania, Tucker and Sawyer; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, River, Madison, Beckett and Tate. She is also survived by her niece, Holly Baroni.

Spending time watching her children and grandchildren grow and enjoy life brought her much pride. Jean (Grandma and “GG”) was so loved, her gift of time will be treasured.

Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Spooner, Elsie Lyman, Helen Proch, Joseph Buynovsky, and Robert Buynovsky; and nephews Rick Spooner and George Lyman Jr.

“Mom, we may mourn your loss, but we celebrate your life and all the love you have shared. We will miss you.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.

Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is honored to serve the Przygocki family. Please visit Jean’s memorial website at FunkFuneralHome.com.
