PROSPECT – Christina Lee Luddy passed away peacefully on the morning of March 5, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, surrounded by her loving family, at the young age of 34.
She was born on Dec. 24,1989, the daughter of Robert G. Luddy Jr. and Margaret C. (Corey) Luddy of Prospect. Besides her parents, Christina is survived by her sister, Carolyn Luddy of West Hartford; and her long-term boyfriend, Marc Fallstrom of Prospect.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Robert Luddy Sr. and Mary Luddy of Prospect; and her maternal grandparents, Frederick Corey and Pamela Corey of Waterbury.
Christina was brilliant in more ways than one. She graduated as salutatorian from Woodland Regional High School in 2007. From there, Christina attended Boston College, where she received a double major in biology and political science. After her graduation, Christina began her career in research at Yale University, where she worked for more than 11 years.
Aside from the intelligence and hard work ethic that was bestowed upon Christina, God gave her empathy and a loving heart for others. Christina’s family was everything to her and she will be greatly missed by many.
As a family we would like to extend our gratitude to the team of ICU doctors and nurses at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Not only did they vigilantly care for and try to save our beloved Christina, they also showed our family the highest level of empathy and compassion during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make time to spend with your loved ones, never hold grudges, and always focus on the good in others.
Christina’s calling hours will be on Monday, March 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Everyone attending her Mass is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Prospect Cemetery.
