In this exclusive feature, Sampurna Rakshit, Marketing Head, Mia by Tanishq, sheds light on the distinctive strengths and capabilities that women contribute to the workplace and offers guidance on navigating gender-related challenges. Read on.

What unique strengths do women bring to the workplace, and how can organizations better leverage them for innovation and growth?

While I believe that strengths and skill sets vary widely among individuals, what women bring to the table is a more balanced and nuanced view of business.

The emotional quotient, team management skills, and multitasking are aspects that women contribute to any organization or team, and these elements have a measurable impact across the value chain.

Especially in an organization like ours, where women constitute the dominant share of consumers, the intelligence brought in by our women leaders is unparalleled.

How have you overcome gender-related challenges in your career, and what advice do you have for other women facing similar obstacles?

While we wish we could have an equal world in the workspace, the current reality is not quite there. The advice I would give is threefold. Firstly, always put your hand up and make your voice heard; never discount or second-guess yourself.

Secondly, ask your partner or village to pitch in and help. Set your expectations clearly. There is no glory in doing it all alone. Lastly, if you are a woman in a position of influence, look out for younger women and lend them a hand. Be their mentor, their champion, and speak up for them.
