Routt County Dems to hold caucus, assembly and convention Saturday

For the 2024 election, Team Routt Dems is hosting a virtual combined caucus, assembly and convention on Saturday with sign-ins from 1-1:30 p.m.

According to the Routt County Democrats, this is the first grassroots step in the election process, and people are asked to pre-register for the event at RouttDems.org.

On Saturday, the local Democrats will vote to select Democratic County Commissioner Candidates for the Democratic primary in June, and the Dems will vote for delegates to represent them at the state and district assemblies, and who will vote to select Democratic congressional, state and district candidates for the June primary.



People will also have the opportunity to vote for convention delegates who will represent the Routt County Dems at state and district conventions, and who will vote to select delegates to the Democratic National Convention. People will also have opportunities to sign up to be an election judge, poll watcher, precinct organizer or for other volunteer positions.

Beyond that, the Dems are asking attendees to share their voice on the Democratic party platform as people will also have a chance to hear from national, state and local candidates.



Per state law, people must be a resident of their precinct, registered to vote and affiliated with the Democratic Party no later Feb. 16 to participate in the Routt Dems caucus, assembly and convention.  Additionally, 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds who meet these requirements are welcome to attend the Dems’ caucus, assembly and convention.
