Antwon Stevenson departs Glenn after 9 seasons as head football coach

After 23 total years of coaching at Glenn High School, Antwon Stevenson will take his knowledge to another school.
Glenn officially announced that Stevenson has departed from his role of head football coach. He became in head coach at Glenn in 2015.
Under Stevenson, Glenn achieved some very high marks. In 2016, his second year, Glenn finished with an 8-4 overall record. In 2017, the Bobcats went 10-2. In 2018, Glenn finished 6-7 but still made it to the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4A West playoffs. In 2019, Glenn went 9-5 overall, making it to the third round of the state playoffs. In the shortened pandemic season, Glenn finished 5-2. In 2021, the Bobcats finished 9-3 overall and made it to the second round.
Glenn has finished 3-7 overall in each of the last two seasons. The Bobcats have lost a number of key players to the other Forsyth County schools through the school choice open enrollment program.
The Bobcats' athletic department released the following statement on Thursday afternoon.
"The Glenn Athletic Department would like to thank Coach Antwon Stevenson for his year's of service to Glenn HS. He has spent his entire 23 year coaching career at Glenn and was an instrumental part of several of our athletic programs. While he will be missed we wish him nothing but good fortune in his future endeavors."
Stevenson will officially be named the head football coach at another program in the Triad on Monday night.
