All westbound lanes of toll road NC-540 closed due to crash

A serious crash was blocking all lanes of toll road NC-540 near Green Level West Road on Friday morning.

Traffic was only able to get past the crash by riding on the left shoulder into the median.

Traffic cams showed delays building behind the crash as of 8 a.m. during the morning commute and a firetruck blocking all lanes.

Someone was injured in the crash, but the extent of injuries is unknown.
