Real Madrid will take Jude Bellingham's red card to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after their appeal was rejected.

The England midfielder was handed a two-game ban, which would have meant he missed the La Liga matches against Celta Vigo on Sunday and Osasuna next weekend.

Bellingham picked up a controversial red card during last weekend's 2-2 draw with Valencia after being sent off after the final whistle.

Having headed home to seemingly give Real Madrid the victory in the final knockings of the game, Bellingham's goal was ruled out by referee Jesus Gil Manzano who had blown the final whistle before the ball hit the net.

As a result the 20-year-old and his Real Madrid teammates argued with the referee, leading Gil Manzano to give Bellingham a straight-red card for his protests.

Speaking after the midweek game with RB Leipzig, Bellingham explained: “I have got investigations, bans and appeals up to my eyeballs so I don’t really know what to say.
