South Carolina man charged with murder of ex-girlfriend, a Fayetteville native

On Dec. 5, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrested Daniel Gabriel Harmon, 34, identified by family members as Smith's ex-boyfriend.

A South Carolina man is charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, a Fayetteville native.

A prayer vigil will be held Saturday night in Fayetteville for Jamilla Smith, 30, who was last seen Dec. 2 after calling 911 to report her ex-boyfriend was at her Jackson, S.C., home.

On Dec. 5, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrested Daniel Gabriel Harmon, 34, identified by family members as Smith's ex-boyfriend.

Harmon was charged with murder, second-degree domestic violence and kidnapping in connection to Smith's disappearance.

The prayer vigil will be held 6:30 p.m. on Saturday in Fayetteville at First Impressions Academy, 6965 Nexus Court.
