Eagle River Presbyterian Church in Avon welcomes a new music director

Eagle River Presbyterian Church in Avon has recently welcomed Levi Walker as its new music director.
Interim Pastor Pat Smith had this to offer regarding Levi’s recent hiring.
“Eagle River Presbyterian is deeply focused on building out a great life for everyone who invests in our fellowship and deeply rich connections with all our neighbors throughout the valley,” Smith said. “A key part of this life and welcome is our music. Levi is a wonderful gift to us. Building on the wide range of music styles that have enhanced our worship over the years, he brings a deep heart of faith and rich love of all kinds of music.”
Walker is the choir and theater teacher at Battle Mountain High School, and has since 2022 directed the valley’s Dickens Carolers.
“When I was young, my mother and father served as the music minister and preacher, respectively, at Peachtree Baptist Church in Atlanta,” Walker said. “I was quite literally raised in the church — many of my earliest memories are of playing hide-and-seek in the various rooms. … My high school music directors were incredibly impactful on my musical and leadership development, inspiring me to follow in their and my mother’s footsteps as a music teacher.”
