17-year-old high school student shot, killed in Robeson County
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 17-year-old Purnell Swett High School student who was shot and killed Tuesday.
Tuesday at 10:58 p.m., Robeson County deputies responded to Downy Road in Rowland in reference to an individual who was shot. When deputies arrived, they found Kaden Strickland, 17, of Pembroke, dead.
Public Schools of Robeson County sent a statement to WRAL News:
"We ask the community to join us in prayer for the family of Purnell Swett High School student Kaden Strickland who passed away recently. We are deeply saddened for the Strickland family. Please also keep students and staff members in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time of loss."
The investigation is ongoing.
