OpenAI says Elon Musk sued after Tesla merger was rejected

OpenAI has rejected Elon Musk’s claims that the start-up has abandoned its original mission of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, and it said the billionaire had demanded a merger between the ChatGPT-maker and Tesla.

Last week Mr Musk filed a lawsuit against the start-up he co-founded, alleging breach of contract, saying the Microsoft-backed firm was now focused on making money.
