5 people arrested at Joyner Park after police chase in Wake Forest

Five arrested after police chase that ended at Wake Forest park

Five people have been arrested after a shooting and subsequent police chase that ended at Joyner Park Thursday morning.

At 2:10 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired along the 200 block of North Allen Road. Officers discovered that the suspects had fired shots into and poured gasoline on an unoccupied vehicle.

Police said officers tried to stop a vehicle, and a chase ensued. The suspects fled the scene but were apprehended a short time later at E. Carroll Joyner Park on Harris Road.

Three women and two men were arrested.

Police said nobody was shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
