Indian government on Monday launched the Chakshu portal, a platform for reporting suspected cyber fraud communications. The portal is based on a Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP), which is used for the exchange of information and coordination in real time between all parties involved. How does Hammer Portal work?
The platform is very easy to use. There is a one-page form that users must fill out to report potential cybercrimes. First, users need to access the portal, which can be accessed here. Click Continue Report to go to the next page. There the user has to enter several details. You must provide information such as the means of communication, the type of suspected fraud, the date and time, and the content of the communication. Users should also attach a screenshot of the suspicious connection. This can be an image of a message or a call log. The size of the attached files cannot exceed 1 MB.
After entering this data, users must also enter some personal information. This includes name and telephone number. Finally, the user has to enter the captcha, verify their number via OTP and submit the report. If the report is documented, the suspicious number will be asked to reconfirm its details or the number will be deactivated.
