Rapper Ludacris, a household name again thanks in part to a current series of insurance company commercials, is set to perform at the Big E in Massachusetts on Sept. 14, with tickets going on sale Friday.

Though he hasn’t released a studio album since “Ludaversal” in 2015, Ludacris has remained in the public eye. He made an appearance during Usher’s set at Super Bowl LVIII last month and toured with Janet Jackson last year. He’s a frequent guest on reality shows and game shows. He also created the children’s series, “Karma’s World,” and starred in the cooking show “Luda Can’t Cook.” Ludacris has also portrayed Tej Parker in seven of the “Fast & Furious” movies.

Ludacris played Foxwoods’ Premier Theater in September but generally has not performed a lot in Connecticut.

His hits include “Money Maker,” “Rollout,” “Move Bitch” and “Stand Up,” but in concert he’s also known for doing covers of songs by Usher, Justin Bieber, Fergie, DJ Khaled and others.

The only other Big E Arena show to be announced so far this year is the boy band Big Time Rush, performing on Sept. 29 with tickets already on sale for $69.

The Big E, aka the Eastern States Exposition, is taking place this year from Sept. 13-29 in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The bulk of the entertainment lineup gets announced in late spring and early summer.
