Carlo Ancelotti protested his innocence amid accusations of tax fraud by the Spanish state prosecutors.

They claim he used a 'confusing' system of shell companies to hide his income during his first LaLiga stint a decade ago.

The Real Madrid boss is accused of having defrauded around £855,000 and faces two tax fraud charges.

It is punishable by up to four years and nine months in prison.

However, Ancelotti hit back at the claims following Real Madrid's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

He is reported to have said: “It's an old story that started eight years ago.
