Through tonight: Another period of steadier rain should last through the evening. It may turn heavier for a time late in the evening and into the overnight, especially east of the city. Some fog should develop during lulls in the rain. Temperatures won’t move much, with lows expected to be mainly from 46 to 51 degrees.

Tomorrow (Thursday): Most of the rain should be gone, but a shower could linger into the morning. Otherwise, we expect partial sunshine and mild temperatures, with highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Winds should blow from the north and east around 10 mph, with gusts upward of 20 mph or so.

Flooding rain: We’re missing the worst of the current storm. Heavier rain is forecast to fall to our northeast, including in southern New England, where flood watches are up for Hartford, Conn.; Providence, R.I.; and Boston, among other spots.
With widespread totals of 1 to 3 inches and more than 4 inches in some locations, flooding of urban areas, streams and basements is anticipated. Some of the heaviest rain is also expected to coincide with the Thursday morning commute.
