Hahnair marks a decade with 50M safeguarded tickets & groundbreaking Securtix®

Since its inception in 2010, Hahnair has successfully sold 50 million tickets that are safeguarded against insolvency, catering to over 350 partner airlines. It was the pioneer in the ticketing industry to offer complimentary insolvency protection with each HR-169 ticket, a groundbreaking move at the time.

Securtix® is Hahnair’s assurance program that pledges refunds for services on an HR-169 document that are not rendered due to the airline’s insolvency. This protection extends to passengers in transit during the insolvency event, offering them compensation for the unused portion of their ticket, including taxes. Affected passengers are also entitled to compensation for the purchase of a new ticket up to €125, along with allowances for meals and accommodation costs up to €75, and additional out-of-pocket expenses up to €50. Furthermore, travel agents receive compensation for their extra work in assisting stranded passengers.
