YVMC, Fidler receive national recognition

For the seventh consecutive year, UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center has been recognized as one of the top 100 rural and community hospitals in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, a management consulting firm that specializes in serving healthcare clients.
Chartis uses a hospital performance index to assess rural providers based benchmarks across eight pillars of performance including quality, market share and patient perspectives.
“This impressive achievement directly correlates to the positive culture at YVMC,” said Soniya Fidler, the hospital’s president. “Not only do our staff and providers care for our entire community and those who visit Steamboat Springs, they genuinely care for each other. I could not be more humbled by their dedication and delivery of excellent health care to our patients.”
YVMC has been recognized with this achievement each year since 2018 and was one of two hospitals in Colorado to receive this year’s honor along with Mercy Hospital in Durango.
In addition, Fidler was named one of 110 rural hospital and health system “CEOs to know” in 2024 by Becker’s Hospital Review, a medical industry trade magazine. Executives featured on the list are committed to expanding hospital service lines, renovating and improving their facilities, and hiring talented team members.
