A young teenager who could not swim got carried out to sea by a strong current while playing in the water with friends at one of Dublin’s most popular beaches two summers ago, an inquest has heard.

A sitting of Dublin District Coroner’s heard a decision was made to take the boy to hospital by helicopter after he was pulled from the water when an ambulance was delayed by traffic.
