FAA Invests in Future of Aviation with $13.5 Million Educational Grants

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to distribute $13.5 million across 32 educational institutions to foster the development of future pilots and aviation maintenance technicians.

A portion of this investment, $4.5 million, is earmarked for 12 schools through the FAA’s Aircraft Pilots Aviation Workforce Development Grants program. This funding is intended to help these schools develop and implement educational programs aimed at guiding students toward careers as pilots, aerospace engineers, or drone operators, in addition to facilitating teacher professional development.

The remaining $9 million will support 20 additional schools under the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers Workforce Development program. This initiative aims to rejuvenate the aviation maintenance workforce, which has seen a decline of approximately 20,000 workers since the onset of the pandemic.
