Chamber to host middle-school civics bee

The Craig Chamber of Commerce will host the the second round of the 2024 National Civics Bee.
The patriotic celebration of civic education and engagement will be held at 6 p.m. on April 3 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion (640 E. Victory Way).
This year’s installment of the annual event will feature a live quiz competition between 11 Yampa Valley middle school students, putting their civic knowledge to the test.
The top 3 finishers from the night’s competition will advance to the Colorado state competition, which will be held on May 17 in Denver. The Colorado State Champion will advance to the National Civics Bee competition in Washington, D.C. on November 12 to compete for the National title as well as over $50,000 in prizes.
The public is invited to attend and cheer on the local middle schoolers representing northwest Colorado.
