GAA club joins search for missing ex-player Jordan Gallagher (20s)

A Co Tyrone GAA club has joined the search for a missing former player Jordan Gallagher.

It's understood Mr Gallagher, who is in his early twenties, was last seen on Saturday evening close to his home in Ballycolman.

A cross-border search was launched along the banks of the Mourne and Foyle on Sunday after reports that a man may have entered the river.

The area around Lifford Bridge was closed for a period on Saturday as part of the emergency operation. More than 50 people have been patrolling the banks of the two rivers in a co-ordinated search.

Strabane Sigersons carried out a search on Monday and is set to search again on Tuesday.

On social media, the GAA club said on Monday evening: “Unfortunately, today's search has yielded no results. Tomorrow (Tuesday 5th March) we will continue to search to bring our boy home.

“Please also be mindful of your own safety while out on the search, wear warm clothing, suitable footwear and hi-vis vest/ clothing if possible. As the sun rises tomorrow, let it be the light that guides you home.”
