Irish music manager Louis Walsh has said “sharing a bedroom with so many people” is one of the things scaring him the most in Celebrity Big Brother.
The former X-Factor host, from Kiltimagh in Co Mayo, will battle it out against big names like Sharon Osbourne, Love Island winner Ekin-Su and celebrity chef Levi Roots over the course of three weeks.
On sharing rooms ahead of the opening night, Walsh said: “I’ve not done that since boarding school, and I hated it then.”
He stressed that he finds it difficult to live with “loud and arrogant” people.
“I can’t stand people like that,” the 71-year-old former Johnny Logan, Boyzone, Jedward and Westlife manager said, adding that anyone like Donald Trump that is “loud and in your face” would be difficult to live with.
On his own less desirable traits in the house, he said he doesn’t cook, can only make tea and mostly just uses the microwave.
The ITV show, airing for the first time in six years last night, runs for three weeks, with contestants competing against one another in challenges for the final prize money, which goes to charity.
He named his former X-Factor hosts Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger, as his ideal housemates, saying “they’re all great fun”.
Walsh entered the house with Osbourne on the first show last night, with the pair given a “secret lair” where they can decide over which three housemates they will put in the “danger zone.”
Big Brother told them: “I’ve brought the two of you back together because I know you are used to judging people on first impressions.”
One housemate will then automatically face the public vote come next week.
When asked before entering the house this week why enter Celebrity Big Brother now, Walsh replied: “Why not! I’m not getting any younger and I just want to have fun so when the opportunity for this came up I thought let’s do it.”
On what he hopes to get from the experience, the music mogul said all he wants is “to have fun and meet some nice people.”
When asked what he wants to see at the end of the runway on the show’s conclusion, whether that be early on or in the final in three weeks, he said: “A taxi to take me home.”
Celebrity Big Brother airs Sunday- Fridays, 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
