Jude Bellingham has enjoyed a record-breaking first season at Real Madrid, but his central role for England could be under threat.

Phil Foden's starred in Man City's derby win over Manchester United, which saw him overtake Bellingham in goal contributions this campaign, and caused fresh headache for Gareth Southgate.

Foden took his goal tally to 18 in all competitions for City as his brace secured a 3-1 win over their arch-rivals, adding to his 10 assists to leapfrog his Real Madrid counterpart, who has been involved in 26 goals altogether.

The pair have established themselves as two of England's brightest prospects in recent years, with both young stars becoming indispensable in their club side's title charges.

And Foden's success in a more central role this campaign has been particularly eye-catching.

Having previously shone as a winger for the Citizens, the versatile talent has occupied an attacking midfield slot more recently, a position which Bellingham also fills for club and country.
