Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:15AM

Future Consumer Ltd.(up 5.56%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 1.66%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(up 1.57%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 0.94%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 0.57%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.39%), Gillette India Ltd.(up 0.37%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(up 0.21%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(up 0.14%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 3.69%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.63%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 2.44%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(down 2.44%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 2.31%), ADF Foods Ltd.(down 2.04%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 1.93%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(down 1.80%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(down 1.66%) and Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 1.63%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 23.3 points up at 22401.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 34.0 points at 73840.15 at around 11:15AM.

NTPC Ltd.(up 4.69%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.76%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.74%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.02%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.02%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.95%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.43%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.22%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.13%) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.9%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.41%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.97%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.47%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.29%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.1%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.94%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.8%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.74%), UPL Ltd.(down 0.73%) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.7%) were trading in the red.
