RCB vs UP Warriorz, WPL highlights: Royal Challengers Bangalore beats UP Warriorz by 23 runs

OUT!1 Deepti charges, looks to slog, gets a leading edge and Asha takes the catch the herself! In the process, Asha collides with fellow teammate but makes sure the catch isn’t dropped.

Devine is back and Khemnar powerfully smacks the ball towards midwicket to get a boundary. Five runs off first four balls. A quick single on the fifth ball. Khemnar ends the over with a flick towards backward square leg for four. 

Poonam Khemnar hits a powerful reverse sweep for four to begin the Asha Sobhana over. Deepti ends the over with a brilliantly struck four down the ground. 11 runs off the over.

Renuka is back. Deepti launches towards long on for a SIX! UP needs quite a few of those. An LBW against Deepti, umpire says not out but RCB reviews. Pitched way outside leg. Not out. Eight runs from the over. 

Healy reverse sweeps Molineux for four! Looks like Healy is gone here! Superb wicketkeeping by Richa. Terrific take and then removes the bails timely to stump Healy.

Ekta Bisht, the debutant, is welcomed to WPL with a four by Deepti Sharma. Wide ball and cut past point. Followed by a double. Once again cut past point but good fielding in the deep saves two runs. 10 runs from the over. 100 comes up for UP. 

Asha Sobhana is here. OUT! Sehrawat is caught inside the circle. Wasn’t able to time the ball well during her short stay, Sehrawat.

Healy continues her attacking display. Brilliantly hit lofted cover drive for four. Follows it up with a cut past backward point for four. Third boundary on the trot in this Wareham over! Once again loft over covers. Sehrawat is off the mark with a single. 

Healy cuts and gets boundary on the first ball of the over of Devine. SHOT! Now Grace Harris pulls the ball fine for four. OUT! Harris falls. Tries to ramp, doesn’t time it well, and a brilliant catch by the keeper.

And another SIX! This time Navgire smacks Renuka for a straight hit over the bowler’s head. Follows it up with a four. Pushes it right between the gap of long-on and midwicket. Another four. Short ball slashed past point. Then a double towards fine leg. Five wides!! Way down the leg, no chance for the keeper. Single. 24 runs from the over!

Devine from the other end. Swing! Beats Kiran Navgire. First runs on the board for UP as Navgire pushes the ball towards square leg to get three runs. Good fielding by Perry in the deep to save the boundary. SIX! Healy is off the mark with a SIX over cover! Beautiful hit just over the fielder in the deep. And another SIX to end the over by Healy. Same shot, same region, same result. 

Renuka Thakur with the new ball. Alyssa Healy gets beaten and Richa Ghosh hits directly at the stumps and umpire sends the decision upstairs. She’s safe. Made it to the crease. Healy has found it difficult to time on the first three balls. Five dot balls on the trot. Maiden! What a start. 

Ecclestone to bowl the final over. OUT! Perry is caught in the deep. Outstanding knock this. Tried to once again clear the midwicket boundary but couldn’t this time.

Deepti bowling the penultimate over. Perry gets to her fifty in style. Hits straight down the ground for four. SIX!! Perry launches over midwicket. Superb shot and she breaks the glass of the car there. Pretty expensive six that. 13 runs from the over. 

SHOTT! Perry jumps forward against Gayakwad and smacks the ball straight for a SIX. And another SIX! This time pulled away towards midwicket. Followed by a single and a dot. Now Richa slog sweep deep into the midwicket stands. Majestic SIX. 21 runs off the over. 

OUT!! Mandhana is gone. Tries to slog sweep Deepti but ends up getting caught at midwicket. Terrific knock this.

Mandhana begins the Anjali over with a boundary past short fine leg. And another boundary! This time lofted towards long off and fielder almost grabs it until she doesn’t. Third four of the over on the fourth ball. Cut past backward point. Easy pickings. Perry ends the over with another boundary past short third. 17 runs from it. 

Chamari is back for her third over. Mandhana pulls towards square leg and finds yet another boundary! And then she sweeps in the same region to achieve similar result. Another four! This time lofted over cover point. 

Ecclestone bowling her third over. Three singles in four balls. LBW appeal against Perry, umpire isn’t interested but UP takes a review. Inside edge and the decision stays. 

Harris is back. Mandhana takes a single and reaches her fifty in 34 balls! Now Perry launches Harris over midwicket for a SIX! Superb striking this. 11 from the over. 

Gayakwad is back and Perry smacks her towards midwicket for four on the first ball. SHOTT! Mandhana plays a spectacular inside out for a SIX over cover. 100-up for RCB. 14 off the over.

Deepti is back. She has stopped midway through the runup twice in a row. Two singles in first five balls. Just three runs from the over. 

Ecclestone continues. Mandhana cuts late and it goes past wide of short third for four. Just five runs off the over. 

Mandhana charges Chamari, misses the ball but the keeper misses it as well!! Four byes and a double lifeline for Smriti in three balls. On the next ball, Mandhana laps to get a boundary. 12 runs from the over. 

Sophie Ecclestone into the attack. Three runs on the first three balls. DROPPED! Mandhana gets a lifeline. She slogs straight towards long-off but the fielder overruns and couldn’t grab the ball. 

Deepti Sharma into the attack. Mandhana pulls her first ball towards square leg for four. Just two singles on the next four balls. Just six runs off the over.

Anjali into her second over. A double on the first ball as Meghana hits it straight but doesn’t get enough power in the shot. On the next ball she gets the desired result. Back of the length and put away over covers for four. OUT! Meghana is caught on the third ball. Similar length, Meghana tries once again punch through the air but gets a leading edge and is caught inside the circle on the off side.

Chamari Athapaththu is welcomed into the attack with punch past backward point for four. Now Smriti, full ball and she slogs it straight over long on for a SIX!

Rajeshwari Gayakwad into the attack. Mandhana charges and plays a beautiful inside out for a SIX over cover. Eight runs from the over. 

Harris continues. Short ball and Meghana guides it away towards fine leg for a four. Followed by two singles. Now, full length and Meghana lofts just over mid-off to end the over with another boundary. 

Anjali Sarvani bowling the second over. Starts off with two wides down the leg. First legal delivery, a half-tracker and Mandhana puts it aways towards square leg for the first boundary of the day. Now Meghana gets a boundary. Thick outside edge and that goes past short third. 12 runs from the over. 

Interesting. RCB has a change in opening pair with Smriti Mandhana coming out with Meghana. Meghana faces the first ball off Grace Harris’ over. A single on the third ball gets RCB off the mark. Just two runs off the over. 

The 38-year-old spinner becomes the oldest player to play in the WPL.

Anjum Chopra says the average score on the pitch tonight is not that great - 123. Tonight, also there is indication that it’s a bit damp because of the moisture content is slightly high. It can just hold up slightly, the advantage for the spinners in the initial part of the game is there. Most teams like to chase because one side of the ground is slightly shorter than the other side. 

Bengaluru saw a terrific crowd yesterday for a non-RCB game. Today being a RCB match and that too the final match in front of the home crowd, expect another cracking atmosphere as we near the toss. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore has upper hand over UP Warriorz winning two out of three matches in WPL. In the previous encounter last week, RCB defeated UP by two runs. 

Despite a promising start to the campaign, boasting two consecutive victories, Royal Challengers have faced setbacks with consecutive defeats in recent matches.

Their opponents, Warriorz, eager to avenge their earlier loss to RCB, where they fell short by two runs while chasing 152, come into this fixture with two successive wins, aiming to settle scores in this first reverse fixture of WPL 2024.

WPL 2024: Wounded RCB hopes to provide some cheer to crowd, takes on UP Warriorz in last home game

Royal Challengers Bangalore is poised for its final home game in front of the ever-supportive M. Chinnaswamy crowd as it prepares to take on UP Warriorz in a Women’s Premier League 2024 encounter in Bengaluru on Monday.

The Women’s Premier League 2024 match between UP Warriorz and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be telecasted on the Sports18 network. The match can also be live streamed via the Jio Cinema app and website.
