Glenn was born in Ohio, the second son of Harlan and Ursula Choate. As an Army family, they spent time in Germany (his mother’s homeland), then moved to Colorado Springs. In 1970, when Harlan (LTC) retired from the Army, they relocated to the then small town of Vail, CO. During high school, Glenn was an avid ski racer earning a Silver Medal in the Giant Slalom at State Championships. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1977.
For the last 20+ years, he proudly lived off the grid in Westcliffe, CO. He enjoyed fly fishing, mountain biking, and skiing. Glenn passed away quietly at age 65 from cancer on January 3rd after a short hospice stay in Pueblo, CO. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Adrian Choate (wife Betsey) in Oregon. Glenn also leaves behind many close friends from his high school years and beyond.
No services are planned.
“Glenn, we hope you have many powder days in your new great beyond.”
