Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to debut its serviced apartment offering in the UK, with a new-build property in Glasgow’s city centre.
Radisson Hotel & Serviced Apartments Glasgow will feature a mixture of hotel rooms and extended stay apartments, as well as a ground floor destination restaurant, rooftop bar and lounge, a fitness centre and meeting space.
The property is scheduled to open in 2027 on the site of a former warehouse building at 90/96 Maxwell Street and 40 Fox Street, with some rooms and space benefitting from views of the River Clyde.
Radisson Hotel Group opened its first extended stay property in Western Europe in 2021, located in the Amstelveen area of Amsterdam, and last year unveiled Radisson Hotel and Suites Zurich, located in the Glattpark district of Opfikon, between the city’s airport and the Messe Zurich exhibition hall.
Commenting on the news Adela Cristea, vice president, business development UK, Ireland and Nordics at Radisson Hotel Group, said:
“This is an exciting time for Radisson Hotel Group; this is the first serviced apartment concept signing in the UK for us and we are absolutely thrilled to showcase it in Glasgow.
“Radisson Hotel & Serviced Apartments Glasgow will perfectly complement our award-winning Radisson RED and Radisson Blu properties, both of which are established, great brand representations in this amazing city.
“This new development will provide more choice for guests, with a home from home experience within the luxury of a Radisson environment.”
Major hotel groups are increasingly focusing on the extended stay market, with Hilton unveiling its LivSmart Studios brand in January, and Hyatt and Marriott also unveiling new extended stay concepts last year.
